Asphalt Patching — A-1 Asphalt Paving

Asphalt Patching

Targeted pothole and failed-section repair — infrared or cut-and-patch.

Overview

What We Deliver

Potholes and failed sections don't fix themselves — they spread. A-1 Asphalt Paving handles commercial and residential patching across New Jersey with two methods: infrared patching for seamless repairs of smaller areas, and traditional cut-and-patch for deeper structural failures. Either way, the result is a flush, compacted, lasting repair.

  • Infrared patching for seamless blended repairs
  • Cut-and-patch for deep structural failures
  • Full compaction for long-lasting repairs
  • Same-day pothole emergency service available
  • Matches existing pavement grade and surface

How We Work

Our Process

Every patching project at A-1 Asphalt Paving follows a proven sequence we've refined over 30+ years in the field.

1

Assessment

We identify whether the failure is surface (infrared-ready) or structural (cut-and-patch).

2

Prep

Cut-out saws the damaged section cleanly; infrared heats the existing asphalt in place.

3

Patch

Hot-mix asphalt placed in lifts and compacted flush with the surrounding surface.

4

Compact & Finish

Rolled to match grade. Patches are drivable in 1–2 hours once cool.

FAQ

Common Questions

Infrared vs cut-and-patch — which is better?
Infrared is seamless and great for surface repairs. Cut-and-patch is required when the base has failed. We'll recommend the right method on-site.
Can you patch a big pothole in a hurry?
Yes — we do emergency patching for commercial clients across NJ. Call us and we'll get out fast.
Will the patch be visible?
Infrared patches blend almost invisibly. Cut-and-patch repairs are visible but flush — a seal coat over the whole lot unifies the look.
